Furpile Idea partners with Naia™ from Eastman to develop sustainable faux fur at fiber level

For the first time, Naia™ is developed starting from fiber.

Furpile Idea is proud to announce the beginning of a new collaboration with Naia™ from Eastman, marking a significant step forward in our research and development path.

For the first time, we are working with Naia at fiber stage, rather than yarn, allowing us to explore new blending possibilities and develop innovative constructions from the very foundation of the textile process.

Our developments include:

100% Naia™ fiber fabrics

70% Naia™ / 30% RWS-certified wool blends

This approach gives us full control over structure, hand feel and performance, enabling new sustainable solutions for textured and pile fabrics.

A next-generation fiber with measurable sustainability

Naia™ Renew is produced through Eastman’s Carbon Renewal Technology, using 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% certified recycled waste materials, reducing carbon footprint by approximately 35% compared to conventional production.

The wood pulp is responsibly sourced and verified, and Eastman has been recognized as a leader in sustainable forest sourcing in the Canopy Hot Button Report 2023.

In addition to its circular sourcing model, Naia™ fibers are certified biodegradable, with independent testing demonstrating biodegradation in approximately 11 weeks under natural conditions.

Sustainable faux fur, redefined

Through this collaboration, Furpile Idea has developed a faux fur construction made with Naia™ fiber, combining aesthetic richness, softness and dimensional stability with measurable environmental responsibility.

The result is a pile fabric that not only delivers texture and volume, but also aligns with our long-term commitment to sustainability. By working directly at fiber level, we can fine-tune blends, optimize structure and ensure that performance and responsibility go hand in hand.

The 70% Naia™ / 30% RWS wool version further strengthens the natural component of the fabric, balancing innovation and tradition within a certified supply chain.
